Round 7 Qualifying

Normally, success weight is halved at the penultimate round of the season. However, as the rescheduled Round 3 Malaysia race will be held at Motegi as part of the final round, the cars are carrying their full success weight this weekend.

Q1 for the GT500 class began at 3:03 p.m. under clear skies. Carrying relatively little success weight, the #64 Modulo car (Igor Omura Fraga) continued its strong form from morning free practice and set the fastest time in Q1. The #100 car (Naoki Yamamoto), #17 car (Koudai Tsukakoshi) and #16 car (Tomoki Nojiri) also advanced to Q2.

In Q2, contested by the top ten cars from Q1, the #64 Modulo car, driven by Riki Okusa, set the fastest time of 1:32.414 to secure pole position for the second consecutive round following Round 6 at SUGO. The #17 Astemo car, driven by Yuto Nomura, set the second-fastest time despite carrying significantly more success weight following its victory in the previous round. As a result, PRELUDE-GT cars will line up on the front row for the fourth consecutive round since Fuji. Meanwhile, the #100 STANLEY car, currently third in the standings behind the #17 Astemo car, will start from fourth, while the #16 ARTA MUGEN car will start from seventh.
