On Saturday 19 September, qualifying for Round 6 of the SUPER GT season was held at Sportsland SUGO in Miyagi Prefecture.

In Q1, the #64 Modulo (Igor Omura Fraga), which had shown strong pace since Free Practice, set a time of 1:09.253 with one minute remaining. The lap put the car fastest of the 14 entries and secured its place in Q2. It was the second consecutive round in which Fraga had set the fastest time in Q1, following Round 5 at Suzuka. All five HRC PRELUDE-GTs also progressed to Q2.

In Q2, Riki Okusa in the #64 Modulo carefully brought his tyres up to temperature before beginning his flying lap. He then set a new course record of 1:09.050, improving on the car’s Q1 time. No other car was able to beat the time, giving the #64 Modulo pole position.

The #17 Astemo qualified second, followed by the #100 STANLEY in fourth and the two ARTA cars in sixth and seventh. All five HRC PRELUDE-GTs will therefore start the race from inside the top 10, including two cars on the front row.
