Nobuharu Matsushita

At the age of four, he began kart racing after watching the F1 Japanese Grand Prix. After achieving victories in various junior categories, he graduated at the top of his class from the Suzuka Circuit Racing School Formula (SRS-F) in 2011. The following year, he won the Formula Challenge Japan (FCJ) championship.

From 2013, he competed in the All-Japan F3 Championship, securing the championship title in his second year in 2014. In 2015, he moved to Europe to compete in the GP2 series, where he achieved three podium finishes, including a victory, and finished the season ranked ninth. In 2016, alongside his GP2 campaign, he also served as a test and development driver for McLaren Honda in the F1 World Championship.

In 2017, the series was renamed the FIA Formula 2 Championship, and he continued as a test and development driver for McLaren Honda while competing in F2, finishing 6th in the rankings. In 2018, he returned to Japan and participated in Super Formula with DOCOMO TEAM DANDELION RACING.

In 2019, he challenged the FIA Formula 2 Championship again, securing two wins, and in 2020, he added another victory. Midway through the same year, he joined Super Formula with Buzz Racing with B-Max and achieved his first podium finish in the season finale at Fuji.

In 2021, he joined the Super Formula championship with B-Max Racing Team from the second round and finished in 8th place. In 2022, he joined Astemo REAL RACING, becoming part of Honda’s SUPER GT lineup, and remained in the title fight until the final round. In Super Formula, he secured his first victory in Round 3 at Suzuka.

In 2023, he stood on the podium twice in SUPER GT and finished 6th in the rankings. In 2024, he moved to ARTA and will aim for the title alongside Tomoki Nojiri.
