Track Report by Alberto Puig [Repsol Honda Team - Team Manager]

Marc Marquez visited the Repsol Honda Team after a few races away, how productive it was?

It was very nice to see Marc again on track, it was motivational for all of us here at the track. We were all happy to hear that he is feeling better and that he is now waiting for another examination at the end of August. From this we will know when he will realistically be able to return to the bike.

Which are the steps to come? Is there the possibility of Marc coming to Misano?

I don’t think he can be in Misano and racing, but there is no meaning to make any predictions now because we are not doctors. We have to wait for his scan when the doctors will check the situation and then inform us. After this we will know the recommended steps and how to proceed.

HRC expected a difficult weekend in Austria and it was confirmed on Sunday.

It’s obvious we didn’t have a good weekend at the Red Bull Ring and still we are far away from our expectations.

The positive news was young Japanese riders took victories in Moto3 (Sasaki) and Moto2 (Ogura). Riders from the Asia Talent Cup continue to improve.

I think these results are very important for the young Asian riders. It’s proof that the Asia Talent Cup has been successful and all hard work that everybody (Dorna and Honda) has been putting into this project is bearing fruit. From my personal point of view, I am very happy because I remember well when these three guys started: Sasaki, Ogura and Chantra (second in Moto2). I feel very proud that they can be fighting at the front after so many years. There was a lot of work in the past and at that moment it was like a crazy dream and now we can see it was done with a clear idea and objective.
