HRC announced that Stefan Bradl will make a wild card appearance in the MotoGP World Championship Grand Prix of Spain, riding a Honda RC213V featuring Honda’s next generation scooter engine “eSP+” on its fairing.
eSP+ is a new generation, refined version of “eSP” announced in 2012, with higher output due to a 4-valve mechanism, bore / stroke dimension changes, higher crankshaft rigidity, and piston jet mechanism. The eSP+ engine realizes category-leading performance.
In addition to friction reduction technology carried over from the previous version, eSP+ features new technologies such as a hydraulic cam chain tensioner lifter and double cog belt, enhancing its fuel efficiency.
Including the eSP+ logo on RC213V livery aims to increase awareness of Honda’s advanced engine technology in developing and developed nations alike. Honda plans to increase the number of categories in which the eSP+ logo on its livery.
