Points in Phillip Island Sprint for Moreira

After qualifying tenth on the grid, Pro Honda LCR rider Diogo Moreira made a strong start to today's Sprint. However, the Brazilian faced some difficulties during the race and admitted that he was still lacking the feeling needed to push harder in the wet conditions. He crossed the finish line in ninth place, but was promoted to eighth following a penalty for another rider.

It was a disappointing end to the day for team-mate Johann Zarco, who was able to deliver a strong performance in Qualifying to secure a place on the front row of the grid in third place. However, the Frenchman encountered a problem with one of the bike's sensors, which forced him to retire from the Sprint. He will now focus on Sunday's race, where he will once again have an opportunity to fight for the podium with a front row start.

Unfortunately Honda HRC Castrol rider Luca Marini has been ruled out of the Australian Grand Prix, after he was declared unfit by the MotoGP Medical Team due to the virus he is currently suffering from.

Today, I did my best with the conditions we had. It’s true that I still need more laps in wet conditions to improve my feeling, as this is something I’m still missing. We had a solid qualifying session, and during the Sprint, I was able to fight and stay in the mix. Scoring two points is important, so let’s see what we can do tomorrow!

After securing a front-row start, we were determined to fight for a strong result here. Unfortunately, we had a problem with one of the bike’s sensors, which forced me to retire from the Sprint. It’s a shame because we had the potential to do a good job today, but these things can happen in racing. Now, we need to focus on tomorrow, adapt to the conditions and do our best to get a strong result!
