Demanding Friday for Johann Zarco in Australia
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco concluded Friday in 15th place at the Phillip Island Circuit.

・After a promising start to the day, where Zarco secured 8th position in FP1, both rider and team were determined to carry the momentum into the Practice session.
・However, in the afternoon, while attempting to improve his lap time and secure a direct slot in Q2, Zarco struggled with confidence on the bike and was unable to make further gains, ultimately finishing 15th.
・He will now take part in Q1 tomorrow, aiming to advance to Q2 and fight for the strongest possible result in the Sprint.
・The team is fully committed to analyzing the data and making the necessary adjustments to ensure Zarco feels confident and competitive heading into Saturday.

・After a solid start in the morning session, Chantra encountered some difficulties in the afternoon, particularly during the time attack.
・Looking ahead to tomorrow, Somkiat Chantra will go through Q1 and is fully focused on maximizing his package to fight for a strong result in the Sprint race.

I'm quite disappointed to miss out on Q2, I really thought I could be in the top 10. I felt pretty good this morning; we still need to work on the bike to find more stability and improve the pace, but the performance was fairly strong. Unfortunately, there was no progress in the afternoon, which is a bit frustrating. Going through Q1 tomorrow will be tough, but I’ll give it my best. I hope to have a strong qualifying and make it into Q2. We’ll see.

This morning, we used the medium rear tyre with a different setup, and the feeling wasn’t too bad. In the afternoon, we switched to the soft tyre and another setup for the time attack, but I didn’t feel comfortable. The team is now analyzing the data so we can push harder tomorrow and improve.
