Zarco delivers a solid performance in Saturday's Sprint
Circuit de Barcelona-CatalunyaCASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco finished 7th in Saturday’s Sprint at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya.
・After a strong Q2, in which Zarco secured 7th on the grid, the French rider was determined to fight for a top-five finish.
・He had a good start and positioned himself in the battle, staying within the top six.
・A small mistake cost him a few positions, but Zarco remained undeterred, fought hard until the end, and crossed the line in 7th, earning solid points for the championship.
Somkiat Chantra wraps up Saturday's Sprint in Barcelona
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Somkiat Chantra finished 18th in Saturday’s Sprint at the Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya.
・After a challenging qualifying session, the Thai rider faced a demanding comeback Sprint on Catalan soil.
・Chantra got off to a solid start and pushed hard to regain positions.
・However, tyre drop in the latter stages made it difficult to achieve his targets, and he crossed the line in 18th, gathering valuable data ahead of tomorrow’s race.
Overall, it was a positive Saturday, and I was satisfied with qualifying. In the Sprint, I did a good start, and my target was to fight for the top five, but unfortunately, I made a mistake at Turn 10, which allowed other riders to pass. From that point, I tried to recover, but it was quite challenging. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the battles on track and felt good overall. Finishing in seventh is still a good result, and we’ll aim to fight again in tomorrow’s race.

I’m happy with my Sprint, overall. The start went well, and I focused on managing the tyres. However, once they began to drop, it became difficult, as I struggled with spinning on this track. Physically, it was also tough, and I had to fight through some difficulties, but overall I gave my best effort.
