Johann Zarco completes first day of track action at Balaton Park

・As the MotoGP field is racing at Balaton Park in Hungary for the very first time, the Frenchman and his crew have spent the first day of action on track learning the circuit, refining the bike’s setup, and building confidence.

・During the afternoon Practice session, Zarco delivered a promising performance, consistently running within the top 12, highlighting encouraging progress while also identifying areas for further improvement.

・In the closing stages of the session, the Frenchman experienced a harmless crash during his time-attack attempt, which prevented him from continuing to push and from securing direct access to Q2.

・The rider and the team are now thoroughly analyzing the data collected today, with the clear objective of maximizing performance in tomorrow’s qualifying sessions and the Sprint.

The first day at Balaton Park was interesting. It’s a slow and technical track, and the key is to find the flow and manage the bike well. I really enjoy the last part of the circuit, it’s interesting and fun to ride, and there are some sections I like a lot. Unfortunately, the crash during Practice didn’t allow me to show our full potential and set a better lap time to secure a Q2 spot, so tomorrow we’ll have to go through Q1. Improving session by session and making the right adjustments has been tougher than we wanted, but the team is working hard, and I’m confident we can make further steps forward. We’re still missing some speed, but there is definitely a way to enjoy riding here.
