Tough Sprint for Somkiat Chantra in Mugello
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Somkiat Chantra has crossed the line 19th on Saturday's Sprint at Mugello.

・ Starting from 22nd on the grid, Chantra was determined to get the most out of his package and recover positions.
・ The Thai rider made a solid start, trying to build confidence to push throughout the 11 laps.
・ However, he struggled with a lack of grip, which, combined with high temperatures, compromised tyre performance and made it difficult to maintain consistent lap times.
・ The team will work on some adjustments to the bike setup ahead of Sunday’s race to improve overall performance and grip.
Unfortunate Sprint for Zarco at Mugello
CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco was unable to finish the Mugello Sprint after being taken out by another rider.
・ Frenchman Johann Zarco qualified 14th and was determined to push in the Sprint after noticing some improvements in the morning.
・ Starting from the fifth row of the grid, he made a strong start and immediately gained some positions. However, at the first corner, another rider collided with him, forcing him off into the gravel.
・ Zarco is unharmed and has not suffered any injuries. He will look to bounce back from this disappointing outcome in tomorrow’s race.

Today we made some changes to the settings, and I could feel some improvements. However, during the Sprint, I struggled in the braking areas and lost time there. We’ll try to take a step forward for tomorrow’s race.

Such a pity about the Sprint. At the first corner, it’s very difficult to know where to brake, but from my experience, braking a bit late and taking a wider line helps to gain positions. It’s unfortunate because we had made a step forward, and it felt good to know I could do it right. We are struggling more here than at other tracks, and we need to understand better why. Tomorrow, I want to finish the race and score some points. We need a good result.
