・ Zarco suffered a crash in the final minutes of Practice, while on his fast lap.
・ In the morning session, held in wet conditions, Johann showed great speed and consistency, finishing 4th.
・ During the afternoon session, Zarco positioned himself in a way that would have secured a Q2 spot, but the crash ultimately hindered his progress.
・ Although he will need to go through Q1 tomorrow, the Frenchman has expressed confidence in his performance, feeling comfortable on the bike and ready to make the most of the rest of the weekend.
Somkiat Chantra wraps up Friday practices at the Circuit of the Americas
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Somkiat Chantra has finished 21st on Friday practices at one of the most iconic circuits of the calendar:
・ This morning, the Thai rider experienced his first-ever outing on a MotoGP bike at COTA, and it was in wet conditions.
・ Chantra expressed feeling comfortable with the bike as the laps went by, which helped him adapt to the challenging American track.
・ The rider and his crew will make some adjustments to improve performance, aiming for a strong qualifying result and to push forward in tomorrow's Sprint.
It was a good day overall, except for the crash at the end. This morning, we made solid progress, testing different things on the bike, and I’m happy with the speed. Even in the dry conditions, we were in control and looking strong. On my fast lap, though, I crashed after going over a patch in the asphalt. Tomorrow, we’ll need to push hard in Q1, but I believe we’ve got a good chance to do well in the Sprint, that’s the goal. I’m happy to be competitive and enjoy the track with this bike. We’ve got the potential.
