Frenchman Zarco has experienced a solid Friday on a track he not only likes but truly enjoys. After adjusting some details from the morning session to the practice in the afternoon, the rider pushed until the last second, trying to secure a Q2 spot. There was potential; he felt fast, and the options were consistent. However, he couldn't nail the perfect lap due to a small mistake and some traffic on the track, which prevented him from going straight to Q2.
Solid Friday for Nakagami at Sepang
IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami finished 15th on Friday at the Sepang International Circuit.
Japanese Nakagami and the crew experienced a strong Friday on Malaysian soil, as the rider admitted feeling good on the bike from the morning session. However, in the afternoon, despite starting the session carrying out a strong performance, when trying to secure a Q2 spot, a lack of rear grip prevented him from pushing harder, and he crossed the line 15th.
The practice was great, better than we expected, but we missed the Q2 spot. This weekend, we have the potential to do a good job, although the competitors' level is high, and the situation can be tough sometimes for us. I should have done a perfect lap, but it wasn't easy to nail. I'm proud that I've noticed the evolution since the last time we came here, which is really important.

Overall we’ve got the same problem: we are struggling due to a lack of rear grip. Thinking ahead of tomorrow, we’ll make some changes on the settings to see if we can improve. To look at the bright side, despite having classified 15th, the gap is not huge.
