Demanding Sprint for Nakagami in Jerez

es Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto

IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami has finished 10th on Saturday's Sprint in Jerez.

Demanding Sprint for Nakagami in Jerez

After struggling during the qualifying session, Nakagami faced a comeback Sprint starting from the 24th spot on the grid. Due to a lack of feeling with the bike's front end alongside tricky conditions on track, the Japanese crossed the line 10th, almost getting to the points.

CASTROL Honda LCR rider Johann Zarco crashed on Sprint.

At the very last corner of the last lap, when he was about to cross line 5th, and while trying to defend his position, Frenchman Zarco crashed. He managed to rejoin and finish 11th, proving his commitment.

The rider had carried out a tremendous Sprint after classifying 13th this morning, and he would have been the first Honda on the timesheets. Despite the crash, his strong performance in the Sprint gives us optimism for the upcoming races.

Today's Sprint was chaotic; there were many crashes. I tried to analyze the situation and avoid mistakes as the conditions were tricky. I did my best, and after the gathered information, we'll make some small modifications to take a step forward on tomorrow's race.

It was a thrilling battle out there. In the last two laps, I pushed hard to keep up with my rivals, and on the final lap, I managed to create a gap. However, one of my competitors made a move and overtook me, leading to my crash when I tried to regain my position. This is part of racing; we'll try again tomorrow.
