Iker Lecuona Completes the Sprint in Qatar
Lusail International CircuitLCR Honda CASTROL replacement rider Iker Lecuona has finished 17th on Saturday's Sprint at the Lusail International Circuit.
Starting from the last row of the grid, the Spaniard made a solid start and recovered some positions immediately, fought for the top 15, and made a step forward compared to the previous races. Ultimately, a small mistake prevented him from scoring points, and he crossed the line 17th.
LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami has finished 18th on Saturday’s Sprint at the Lusail International Circuit.
After suffering a crash during qualifying, Nakagami had to start from the back of the grid to face a comeback Sprint. He made a decent start and recovered some positions, but unluckily, a drop on the rear tyre prevented him from pushing. Tomorrow’s race will mean another chance to go and fight for the points.
Today, I've enjoyed the race. I was doing my job and having fun on the bike. However, I went wide on one of the corners and lost the chance of getting to the points. Overall, the feeling I've got on the Sprint motivates me ahead of tomorrow; I can't wait for the Sunday race!
We should have chosen another tyre compound because it was difficult to get to the end of the race. I struggled to manage the tyre drop, and things got complicated, so I just tried to finish without making mistakes. We’ll try again tomorrow
