my Sepang International Circuit

LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami has ended 21st on Friday at the Sepang International Circuit.

TAKAAKI NAKAGAMI COMPLETES FRIDAY AT SEPANG

Trying to make the most of his package and working hard to take a step ahead of tomorrow’s Sprint, Takaaki Nakagami and the crew have carried out a difficult Friday in Malaysia. They are now analyzing all the gathered data to find a solution, as a lack of rear grip prevents them from pushing and improving.

LCR Honda CASTROL replacement rider Iker Lecuona has finished 23rd on Friday at the Sepang International Circuit.

For the 4th time this season, Lecuona has jumped on the LCR Honda CASTROL bike to substitute injured compatriot Alex Rins. In a demanding track in which he hasn't ridden since 2020 and trying to help the team as much as possible, he's performed a solid Friday, adapting to the bike, to some new items for him, and to the level of the category. Iker has improved lap after lap, and despite the final position, the team and the rider have done an interesting job.

The feeling on the bike is better than on the last races, but we still struggle with the rear grip. I’m losing a lot of time when exiting the corners, and we are committed to fixing this situation to be ready for the Sprint.

I was improving my lap time when another rider jeopardized it. In any case, I have to say that I’ve enjoyed the first day despite some tricky areas we are working on. I want to say thanks to LCR, this is a complicated track for me but we are pushing to improve session after session and the important is to keep taking steps forward.
