Tough Friday in Mandalika for Takaaki Nakagami

The Japanese rider and the crew have experienced a complicated Friday, as despite showing a solid performance at the first stages of the practices, Nakagami has finished 17th on the classification. Some issues with the traction control and a lack of feeling with the rear tyre have prevented them from pushing and getting a better result. Saturday will be another opportunity to take a step forward and be ready for the Sprint.

LCR Honda CASTROL rider Alex Rins has completed the first track action day at the Mandalika International Circuit.

Testing his feelings on the bike and continuing his recovery after the injury on his right leg, the Spaniard has carried out a solid Friday, pushing and fighting to be back to his maximum performing level. There is still a process to complete regarding recovery, but the rider has improved and felt better compared to the last Grand Prix two weeks ago and has finished 21st.

This afternoon, the grip level was better than in the morning, but the main problem is with the soft rear compound; we need to find a solution on the bike because I didn’t have confidence. We are working hard to take a step forward for the Sprint.

I feel better than in Japan. Of course, I’m not at my 100%, but the important thing is that I’m getting the feeling again. We are still far in terms of lap times, and it’s what I expected, but we’ve reduced the gap, which motivates me to keep pushing.
