Unexpected Sprint for Nakagami in India

in Buddh International Circuit

LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami ended 13th on Saturday at the Sprint in India.

Unexpected Sprint for Nakagami in India

Starting from the 15th spot of the grid and trying to make the most out of his package, Nakagami fought with rivals for the Top 10 in the first stages of the race. However, some difficulties with the tires added to the track conditions prevented him from reaching the initial goal, and he finally crossed the line 13th.

LCR Honda CASTROL replacement rider Stefan Bradl hasn’t finished the Sprint race as he crashed at the very first turn due to another rider’s mistake.

The German rider started from the 21st spot of the grid and unluckily, he did not have time to push and overtake as one of the riders he had in front, immediately after the start touched him provoking a multiple crash. Stefan is fine and hasn’t suffered further consequences.

I’m disappointed with the result because, in the end, we haven’t reached the top 10. However, we are closer in terms of lap times, which is important. On the Sprint, I mainly struggled at some corners, although I felt good in others. Having today’s information, I’ll fight and give my best tomorrow to get to the top 10.

I stood up from the gravel, and at the beginning, I thought it had been my fault. Then, watching the videos, we realized that I couldn't do differently, as the rider I had in front moved incorrectly. I don't blame him because he couldn't look backward. That's part of racing; we'll try again tomorrow.
