Alex Palou, Honda win Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix in Nashville
Nashville SuperspeedwayAlex Palou added another win to his NTT INDYCAR SERIES season, taking the victory at the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix at Nashville Superspeedway.
The Spaniard followed up Spain's World Cup win with his fifth victory of the season—following previous triumphs at St. Petersburg, Barber, The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and the Detroit Grand Prix. Palou now holds an 83-point margin in the championship fight as the Chip Ganassi Racing Honda driver goes for his fifth title in just six years.
Palou led 97 laps in today's Music City Grand Prix en route to Chip Ganassi Racing's 150th Indy car win.
Felix Rosenqvist finished fifth for Meyer Shank Racing, just ahead of fellow Swede, Marcus Ericsson, in sixth for Andretti Global.
Mick Schumacher scored eighth for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. The result is Schumacher's best finish thus far in his rookie season. Schumacher was the highest finishing first-year driver today and helps close the title fight to Rookie of the Year point leader Dennis Hauger.
Kyffin Simpson finished ninth for Chip Ganassi Racing, just ahead of Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood. Kirkwood scored pole position for the race and led 24 laps before an unluckily timed yellow shuffled him to the back half of the field. He would recover to finish 10th.
The NTT INDYCAR SERIES race from Nashville Superspeedway faced a near 24-hour delay from its scheduled start time following severe storms in the area. Unfortunately, the lightning and rain scuppered the series plan to have the World Cup final as the television lead in for the race on Sunday.
Today's results have Honda leading rival Chevrolet in the manufacturers' standings, 983-938.
The 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES goes back out west for the OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland from Portland International Raceway August 9th.
Race done here in Nashville, and we won! I can't believe it! I started P4, shuffled a little bit from back to front and then we were a bit lucky with a yellow and we went from P3 to P1. It was great, it was awesome. The car was awesome. I was super confident in the end, but it was a close battle with Josef there for a little bit. I couldn't have done it without this RLL team. Our pit stops have been amazing all day. We knew we had a good car in FP2 and from there we just put in the work to keep it quick. I think we can be so proud of everything we've done this weekend. Hopefully many more of these results to come!

This was an excellent Nashville weekend for Honda and HRC. Kyle Kirkwood and Andretti Global gave Honda a pole-setting performance in qualifying, and Alex Palou and Chip Ganassi Racing finished the job with a tremendous race win. Across the weekend (and Monday!), there were changing conditions, strategies, and even race days, and the Honda teams and HRC showed speed, composure, and strong execution despite the challenges. I'm very proud of the effort from everyone at HRC who continue to support our race teams at such a high level.
