Tsuchihashi claims first pole-to-win in Round 5 Race 1

Kota Tsuchihashi, who competes in the series as part of the Honda Formula Dream Project (HFDP), had secured his first pole position in qualifying on Friday 18 September after setting the fastest time on both his best and second-best laps.

Race 1: Pole position to victory

Starting Race 1 from pole position, Tsuchihashi showed strong pace from the opening lap, repeatedly setting fastest laps as he pulled away from the field. By Lap 7, he had built a 2.1-second advantage over the driver in second place.

An incident on Lap 8 brought out the Safety Car, wiping out the lead Tsuchihashi had established. However, he retained the lead following the restart on Lap 12 and had rebuilt his advantage to around two seconds by Lap 15.

The 30-minute race ended after 20 laps, with Tsuchihashi maintaining the lead to the chequered flag and finishing 3.6 seconds ahead of second place. The pole-to-win performance secured his first victory in the French F4 Championship.
