Tom Neave

Tom Neave is a rising star in British racing and at just 26-years old he already has a wealth of experience behind him, and in 2021 was crowned the Pirelli National Superstock Champion. Born into a farming family in Lincolnshire, it was assumed he’d work in the family business, but the riding bug hit when Tom and his twin brother (Tim) were brought a 50cc quad bike aged nine.

Since then Tom has competed, with success, in the Junior Flattrack Championship and the Mini Bike Flattrack Championship - both of which he won. 2013 saw him compete in the Thundersport GB minitwin series taking race wins and also in the Superprestigo qualifier race, where he finished third. In 2014 he again took part in the Superprestigo race where he qualified fourth from 56 riders (0.1 seconds behind Marc Marquez). The same year he raced in the Supertwin series taking six consecutive pole positions and smashing four lap records by over a second.

In 2015 Tom graduated from Supertwin to Superstock 600 in the Thundersport Elite 600 Championship and in 2016 he moved into the National Superstock 600 Championship. The next year he finished fifth in National Superstock scoring three wins, a second place and claiming two pole positions.

In 2018 Tom moved into the National Superstock 1000 Championship, although missing the first few rounds due to injury, he finished second at Knockhill and third at Brands Hatch. It was the same year where he debuted for Honda Racing after being drafted in to ride the Fireblade at Thruxton and Cadwell Park standing in for injured Superbike rider Dan Linfoot.

2019 was Tom’s first-full year with the Honda team in the National Superstock 1000 Championship where he enjoyed a successful development year and scored a third-place podium at his home round at Cadwell Park. Sadly, Tom’s season came to a premature end when he crashed out at the penultimate round of the championship fracturing his left foot, to see him wrap up the season seventh overall.

During the 2020 season Tom impressed in what was the debut year for the new Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, where in the Superstock 1000 class he scored more race wins than any of his rivals. Tom narrowly missed out on the title to finish as runner-up in the shortened season.

After a mixed start plagued with illness and recovery from knee surgery, Tom lifted the 2021 Superstock crown after a thrilling end to the season, which saw him dominate the Pirelli Superstock Championship for another year. Scoring race wins and podiums, Tom was leading from mid-point in the season and didn’t drop his lead as the title fight went down to the wire at the final round at Brands Hatch. For the 2022 season Tom will move into the British Superbike class with Honda Racing UK.
