Honda HRC at Aragón with Jake Dixon and Somkiat Chantra
The Honda HRC team is at MotorLand Aragón in Spain for round six of the 2026 Superbike World Championship, an event that will see Jake Dixon return to the Honda HRC garage alongside teammate Somkiat Chantra.

Dixon is yet to start his 2026 WorldSBK season, having sustained injury during the pre-season test at Phillip Island, just a few days prior to the championship season-opener. Forced to sit out the first five rounds, the British rider is pleased to be back with his team this weekend, having been declared fit following the official medical check. His condition will be re-assessed after FP1.
Last week saw both Chantra and Dixon complete a two-day test at Italy’s Misano World Circuit. This track time allowed the factory Honda HRC team to prepare for round seven, which will take place at the same Italian track in June. The sessions gave Dixon the chance to evaluate his physical condition as he rode the CBR1000RR-R on track for the first time since his accident in February.
As for Chantra, the Thai rookie continues to build experience in the WorldSBK championship. He faced challenges at the latest round in Czechia but felt more competitive than he had in previous races. Somkiat will therefore be looking to take another step in the right direction this coming weekend.
Inaugurated in 2006, MotorLand Aragón is situated in Alcañiz, in Spain’s Aragón region. Designed by Hermann Tilke, the track features a mix of fast, flowing sections and slower, more technical corners, as well as significant changes in elevation. It has been a regular fixture on the WorldSBK calendar since 2011. One of the longer circuits used in WorldSBK, it stretches 5.077 km and incorporates 17 turns, seven right-handers and ten left-handers.

Aragón is one of the WorldSBK Championship tracks that I know and it’s also one I like, so I’m looking forward to the weekend. Last week we completed a positive test at Misano, and we will try to build on the work we carried out over those two very intense days. We will see how things go during the first sessions, but the target is to keep working hard and build our experience. As always, I will try my best together with the team, and I hope the fans will support us throughout the weekend.

I’m really happy to be back with the team and to finally start my season; this feels like round one for me. I’ve been declared fit, with a further check after FP1, and I appreciate the fact that everything is being handled so carefully by the medical staff and team. Health comes first, so we will take things step by step. For now, I still see this almost like part of the testing phase, because I don’t yet know how many laps I’ll be able to make or exactly where we stand. It will be my first full dry weekend on the bike and my first race weekend with the team, so there are no expectations. We’ll build up gradually and see how things go. As for the track, I won here in 2024, so I have good memories of Aragón. We’ll try to make the most of the weekend.
