Cremona calls as Honda HRC returns to Italy for WorldSBK round ten
Cremona CircuitDixon and Chantra will compete at Cremona for the first time during this tenth championship round.
Spurred on by a recent test at the same Italian circuit, the Honda HRC team and riders Jake Dixon and Somkiat Chantra are ready to race at the Cremona Circuit in Northern Italy this weekend.
As the factory squad gears up for this tenth round of the 2026 Superbike World Championship, it is confident that the work completed during a fruitful two-day test, on 9-10 September, will be useful once the action gets underway on Friday.
With just three rounds of the championship left to run, Honda HRC seeks to maximise the track time and build on the progress seen so far. The latest Magny-Cours round brought ups and downs. Dixon showed good pace across the weekend, and both he and Chantra scored points despite facing some challenges along the way.
A smoother weekend on Italian soil can hopefully represent another step forward in the team’s continued progress. Thanks to the recent test at this same track, the two riders, together with their respective crews and Honda HRC engineers, have a good amount of data and knowledge with which to begin work in Friday’s practice sessions.
Situated in Italy’s Lombardy region, Cremona Circuit first opened its doors in 2011. Significant upgrades were carried out ahead of the venue’s WorldSBK debut in 2024, with improvements made to both the circuit layout and paddock facilities to meet the standards required for international competition. At 3.768 km, Cremona is the shortest circuit on the current WorldSBK calendar, featuring 13 corners in total – six right-handers and seven left-handers.
