The Honda Montesa battled for a podium and finished fourth in Italy

On Sunday at the Italian TrialGP event, the Honda Montesa team again placed inside the Top 3 in 'Race 1', as rider Miquel Gelabert put in a great performance. He finished fourth overall.

Sunday started very positively for Miquel Gelabert, as he completed the first section without penalty points. Throughout the race, the zones increased in difficulty, but he navigated them with ease and finished with 19 points, securing third place. In 'Super Pole', the Honda Montesa rider set the fourth fastest time, clocking a 0:38.58.

In the 'Race 2', the difficulty of the middle sections challenged all the participants, but Gelabert managed to react and stay in contention for a podium finish. However, in section 12, he made a mistake that cost him all podium options. After an intense battle and a time penalty, he finished with 26 penalty points, in sixth place. In the combined standings for the day, he was fourth, which saw him pick up valuable points in the overall championship standings.

Gelabert occupies fifth in the overall standings with 142 points. The next round of the TrialGP World Championship will take place from July 24-26th in the British town of Anglesey.

"We started the first lap with the same enthusiasm as yesterday and were able to fight for the podium throughout the entire lap. On the second lap, we made a mistake on Zone 12 that cost us a place in the top positions, but we were still in contention. On the last zone I made a mistake, and that ended our chances of a better result. Even so, I'm happy with the two fourth-place finishes we achieved here, and we're have a very positive feeling. I want to thank the team and Honda for their great work."

"In the first race of the day, we managed to finish third, and were right there in the fight. So we're very happy with that third place. In the second race, we finished sixth. On the final lap, on the last zone, we made a mistake that hindered us when we were battling for second position. In the combined standings, we finished fourth again, but we're right up there fighting in every race, and the important thing is that we're in a solid position. Fighting at the front in our third race is a very good result, so thank you very much to the team and to Honda for their continued support."
