Second win for Bou in Germany

The Repsol Honda rider claims his seventh victory of the season. Gabriel Marcelli returns to the podium with third place.

Sunday on the fourth round of the TrialGP World Championship season in Neunkirchen saw Toni Bou complete his double in Germany, extending his lead in the series, whilst Gabriel Marcelli rounded off the podium to continue his challenge for the top spots.

Bou once again dominated from start to finish, despite the close nature of the competition. On Lap 1, the Repsol Honda Team rider took the lead from the get-go, stringing together four consecutive zeros. With an advantage of only two points over nearest rival, Jaime Busto, he undertook an almost perfect second lap, with just a single error on Zone 11. It earned him his seventh victory of the season, and maintains an unblemished record of four wins in Neunkirchen.

Marcelli had experienced a bad result on the previous day, and improved his performance to complete his objective for the weekend. On the first lap, he was in the fight for the podium positions, just one point behind third-placed Matteo Grattarola. On the second lap, which saw hardly any major errors from the riders, the Montesa Cota 4RT man broke into the podium spots, with his third place being his best result in Neunkirchen and his sixth rostrum of the year.

The Repsol Honda Team riders continue to lead the overall standings. Bou is top with 157 points and an advantage of 39 points over Marcelli in second. The next event will be next weekend, on July 13th and 14th, in Comblain-au-Pont (Belgium).

I am very happy with the win, and with our performance throughout the weekend. It has been almost perfect. It is a pity about the mistake on Zone 11 on the second lap. We were able to recover the good feeling with the bike and I felt very good. During the two laps we were very consistent and made few mistakes. I am very happy with the result, and with the work done by the entire team. The points we achieved are very important for the championship, where I have an important cushion of points that gives me peace of mind. We are already focused on the next round in Belgium.

Today I felt much better on the bike -especially on the second lap, where I managed to refine things a little more. On the first lap I made some mistakes, but on the second I rode much more safely and consistently, making few mistakes. We managed to get back on podium after missing out yesterday, so we are very happy. Furthermore, these are really important points for the championship. We are going to Belgium very motivated and looking forward to repeating these good feelings.

Once again we have seen Toni giving 100%, after the physical discomfort he had in Italy. Jaime tried to put pressure on Toni throughout the weekend, but in the end he managed to make the difference. He is getting closer to the World Championship, so we're very happy with the victory. Gabri started the first lap, both yesterday and today, with some difficulties, but on the second he managed to come back and put in a good performance. He got onto the podium, which is very important, but we have to keep a close eye on Jaime because he is getting closer in the standings. Now it is time to study the mistakes in order to improve and get another double in Belgium.
