Honda Montesa move on to Italy for third round of TrialGP World Championship

The TrialGP World Championship holds its third round of the season this weekend in Camerino. Honda Montesa arrive at the Italian event with Miquel Gelabert in fifth place in the overall standings with 91 points. This will be the Spaniard’s first time competing at the Italian venue.

Gelabert comes into the event after a mixed weekend in Andorra. He encountered difficulties on Saturday that prevented him from fighting for the podium, but he bounced back on Sunday with a strong performance. In the combined standings for the day, he finished tied on points with third place and narrowly missed out on the rostrum.

The third round of the championship will provide another opportunity to adapt the RTL Electric in the top class. Both the rider and the team continue to gain experience against rivals with extensive TrialGP experience, and the goal will be to further close the gap and fight for podium positions in the upcoming rounds.

The action kicks off on Friday with technical and administrative checks, a visit to the course, practice sessions, and the Super Test, which will determine the starting order for Saturday. The races will take place on Saturday and Sunday.

“I’m eager to continue the progress we’ve shown since the start of the season. In Andorra, we took a step forward, especially on the second day, and that gives us confidence for this next race. We’ve worked intensely with the team to keep improving the RTL Electric and arrive as well-prepared as possible. We’re currently fifth in the standings, so the goal will be to fight for the best possible result throughout the weekend.”

“After an intense weekend in Andorra, we’re arriving in Italy eager to keep working and competing. Honda’s development of the RTL Electric never stops, and I’m convinced that we’ll soon see the true potential of Miquel and the bike in a race. The goal for this weekend remains the same: to consolidate our position, continue making progress, and be in the fight for podium finishes.”
