The Palacio de Vistalegre in Madrid was the scene for the opening stage of the 2025 X-Trial World Championship season. This new campaign brings with it important changes with changes to the regulations, which the Repsol Honda HRC riders faced for the first time this weekend.
Bou started off well, demonstrating once again the great form he is in. After completing the six zones, the reigning World Champion has qualified for the final after finishing first, with only four penalty points. In Super Pole, which now decides the starting position for the final, Bou was the fastest, 20 seconds ahead of Jaime Busto in second. In the final, the Repsol Honda HRC rider started last and, after making some important mistakes on the first part of the track, took second place.
Marcelli did not start the 2025 season in the best way. The Montesa Cota 4RT rider made a pair of mistakes during Qualification 1 that dropped him to fifth place, requiring that he participate in “Last Chance”. In Q2, despite completing the three action zones at high speed, he was unable to qualify for the final and had to settle for fifth place overall.
With these results, Bou is second in the overall standings and Marcelli fifth. The next test that the Repsol Honda HRC riders will face will take place on January 11 in Chambéry (France).
