Solid Sprint for Johann Zarco at Silverstone

Frenchman Zarco and the crew have carried out a solid Saturday on British soil. He classified 16th in qualifying, and from that spot on the grid, the rider cleverly managed the Sprint, didn’t make mistakes, and grabbed important information for the Sunday race. Despite not reaching the points, today’s Sprint has shown interesting potential that gives hope for the following rounds.

IDEMITSU Honda LCR rider Takaaki Nakagami has crossed the line 17th.

Starting from the 21st spot on the grid, Japanese Nakagami had to face a comeback race. In a circuit that he likes, he suffered to overtake riders as he didn’t feel comfortable on the bike when trying to push. On the last stages of the Sprint, in order to avoid mistakes, he focused on gathering information ahead of tomorrow’s race, which will be crucial.

Today’s Sprint has been positive. We’ve improved in terms of speed, which is important. Considering the situation we are facing, we’ve done a good job. The start of the race was difficult and dangerous due to the crash of some rivals, and from that moment on, I tried to push and do my maximum. Tomorrow’s goal will be fighting for the points, and I’ll try my best to get to it!

The Sprint was challenging, as I couldn’t ride the way I wanted. This weekend, we are focused on developing some areas of the bike that need to improve; we are testing some items to find a different approach. I’m struggling to reach my pace, as this is a demanding track. Let’s see if we can perform better tomorrow.
