Takaaki Nakagami Completes His First Japanese Sprint

Despite a solid start, Takaaki found some traffic on the first corners of the Sprint and lost some valuable positions. He pushed and fought to recover them, but some issues with the acceleration and difficulties with the edge grip jeopardized his race. The Sprint’s laps now serve Nakagami and the team to understand the areas to improve ahead of tomorrow’s race.

LCR Honda CASTROL replacement rider Stefan Bradl has finished 20th on the Sprint at the Mobility Resort Motegi.

The German has taken over injured Alex Rins, who, despite trying yesterday, couldn’t complete the weekend. This morning, Bradl jumped on the bike to analyze the track conditions and prepare for Saturday and Sunday sessions. When it was time to push on the Sprint, he tried his best and fought with rivals. However, a lack of acceleration and some other circumstances prevented him from doing better. After the Sprint, all the gathered information will be helpful to make further improvements ahead of tomorrow’s race.

This morning, we took small steps, and I felt quite good on the bike, but it was challenging to overtake other riders and get to the points positions during the Sprint. I believe we’ve got potential and are working hard to take a step as I’d like to achieve a positive result in front of my crowd

I’m quite frustrated because, as a rider, you always want good results, and we are facing a difficult situation. In any case, it’s always nice and fun to be around LCR people. I feel at home with them, and it’s a pleasure helping them. Tomorrow’s race will be tough, but I’ll give my best
