Nakagami Completes the Sprint in Misano

sm Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli

LCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami has finished 21st on the Sprint at the San Marino Grand Prix.

Nakagami Completes the Sprint in Misano

At the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Nakagami carried out a good start and pushed to overtake rivals. However, as the laps went by, a lack of feeling with the front end and some difficulties with the rear grip, made him lose positions and he finally crossed the line 21st.

During free practice two at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, replacement rider Takumi Takahashi, suffered a crash that provoked a small fracture on his right foot.

The Japanese therefore hasn’t been able to keep pushing and reduce the gap in terms of lap times, and, after not getting to the 105%, he’s had to miss the Sprint and won’t participate in the Sunday race. The LCR team would like to thank him for his effort and commitment throughout the sessions to learn and give his best in a new circuit he didn’t know and with a team he’d never worked with.

It’s been a difficult race, we didn’t have enough pace, and we are missing on the speed. We need to change the balance of the bike because I feel a limitation on the front end of the bike. Tomorrow’s race will be difficult, let’s see what happens.

I've given my maximum to adapt to the team and the circuit, but pushing has become impossible after the crash due to the small injury I've suffered. I want to thank HRC and LCR for the weekend and wish Alex a speedy recovery.
