Difficult First Day at the Silverstone
Silverstone CircuitLCR Honda IDEMITSU rider Takaaki Nakagami finished 20th on Friday.
It’s been one of the most challenging Fridays of the season so far, as cold temperatures, new items to try, and some other difficulties have prevented the team and the rider from following the initial plan. After analyzing the situation, the crew and Nakagami are ready to take a step forward and push on tomorrow's sessions.
LCR Honda CASTROL replacement rider Iker Lecuona has finished 22nd on Friday.
Replacing Alex Rins, compatriot Lecuona has had the first day of track action with the LCR crew. Jumping on a bike just for a weekend, when the season is underway, and standing in for another rider is always challenging. Iker has given his best to help the team by sharing his feedback and feelings while testing his package.
We've been testing some items today, and I felt good in some areas. We are analyzing the information to adjust the bike and take a step forward. The weather forecasts rain for tomorrow, so we need to pay attention to every detail and adapt to the situation.
I didn't feel as comfortable as I expected, but we are working to improve to find a solution. The positive thing is that tomorrow's weather forecasts rain, and I love these conditions, so I honestly can't wait to ride under the water!
