LCR Honda celebrates its 25th Anniversary

The 2021 season is a landmark campaign for Lucio Cecchinello and his MotoGP outfit.

LCR Honda celebrates its 25th Anniversary

The LCR Honda team made its debut in the 125cc class at the Malaysian GP in Shah Alam in 1996, and 25 years later the team is still racing at the highest level. LCR Honda is bigger and more experienced than ever before but continue to compete with the exact same passion they started out with.

It is now a quarter of a century that the LCR Honda Team has participated in the world’s most important motorcycle competition, the FIM MotoGP™ World Championship: first in the 125cc class, then entering the 250cc class in 2002, before moving on to the premier class in 2006. Cecchinello’s team has been competing in MotoGP ever since, and in 2019 they also entered the groundbreaking MotoE series.

Lucio Cecchinello:

"First of all, I would like to thank every single person that has been a part of the LCR family: riders, technicians, hospitality personnel, management staff, sponsors and partners. Each and every one of them has contributed to our success, growth and continuity. Together we have come a long way.

I also have to thank Dorna, IRTA and the FIM for their collaboration and support, and their hard work in making the World Championship the successful series that it continues to be.

I am pleased to announce that from today, we will be including a 25th anniversary logo on all our communications; a logo which we will use with great pride. We have also created a 25th anniversary hashtag, #LCR25, which we encourage all of you to use all throughout the 2021 season.”
