Solid Sachsenring sixth for Fernandez
Four Honda riders finish German Moto3 race inside the top ten

The 23-lap Moto3 race at a sunny Sachsenring saw Leopard Racing’s Adrian Fernandez spend the race chasing down the leading group of riders. Although the Spanish rider was unable to close this gap, he was able to maintain his sixth place and secure himself a solid haul of points.
After a steady start, Jesus Rios (Rivacold Snipers Team) also experienced a quiet race, riding alone on the circuit after managing to drop those behind him. Rios managed the tyre wear sensibly and crossed the line one place behind Fernandez in seventh place.
There were also top ten finishes for Veda Pratama (Honda Team Asia) and Eddie O’Shea (GRYD Racing), with the pair enjoying a fierce battle between themselves and others in the closing stages of the race. When the chequered flag was waved it was Pratama who came out ahead with eighth place, while O’Shea was tenth.
Team-mate Joel Kelso’s race was hindered when he was forced to avoid another rider’s crash on the second lap of race, by riding through the gravel. This cost the GRYD Racing rider time and positions, but he was able to make his way back through the field to score points in 14th place. Guido Pini (Leopard Racing) was also able to pick up a point in 15th place, while Leo Rammerstorfer (SIC58 Squadra Corse) narrowly missed out in 16th.
Nicola Carraro (Rivacold Snipers Team) was another rider caught up in the Lap 2 incident, and although he was able to keep riding, he lost a large amount of time that he was unable to make it. He crossed the line in 19th place. Unfortunately, it was a DNF for Casey O’Gorman (SIC58 Squadra Corse), who remounted after a Turn 3 crash on Lap 4 but made the decision to pull into the pits and retire from the race.
The Moto3 riders will now enjoy some rest as the championship heads into the summer break, with action resuming at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix (7-9 August).
