Pratama heads Honda-powered Moto3 qualifiers in Brazil

After a Saturday in Brazil in which on-track running was very interrupted by track conditions, resulting in several reshuffles of the time schedule, the Moto3 qualifying session finally got underway at 1710h local time.

Following heavy rains ahead of the Grand Prix weekend, Saturday's track running was all in dry conditions, with the temperature peaking at 31 degrees Celsius, in the afternoon's Q2 session.

As the flag fell on what was rescheduled as the final track session of the day, it was Honda Team Asia's Veda Pratama who topped the list of Honda-powered riders, finishing fourth fastest to inherit the start of the second row for tomorrow's race. Pratama has been fast all weekend, setting the third fastest time in the Practice session, just 0.05seconds shy of the top.

Behind him in that same Practice session was Joel Kelso, the GRYD - MLav Racing rider also enjoying a good start to his Brazilian Grand Prix weekend. Indeed, in the second Free Practice session Kelso was second fastest, just 0.057seconds adrift.

Whilst Pratama finished the Q2 session in fourth, 0.265seconds from the front, Kelso couldn't quite replicate his earlier performance and completed the qualifying session seventh fastest, 0.726seconds behind, as the second-best Honda-powered rider.

Further back, Leopard Racing's Adrian Fernandez finished 12th fastest ahead of SIC58 Squadra Corse's Casey O'Gorman, with Honda Asia Team's Zen Mitani graduating from Q1 to finish 15th.

Tomorrow's 24-lap race gets underway at 1200h local time
