SIC58 Squadra Corse's Casey O'Gorman led home the contingent of Honda-powered Moto3 riders in Aragon after a typically intense Grand Prix which saw both he and Leopard Racing's Adrian Fernandez in particular yoyo up and down the timing sheet.

Fernandez was the top Honda at the start of the GP, leaving the line from 8th and quickly making his way up to 6th position. As the lead four started to break away, Fernandez kept up the pressure and moved into fifth on the third lap, heading the second group and looking set to chase down the leaders.

Meanwhile, O'Gorman started from 14th and made steady progress early on the race, moving up to 11th by the midway point. At the same time, Fernandez had slipped back to 8th, eliminating all of his early gains, his teammate Guido Pini was holding his start position of 11th. Rivacold Snipers Team's Jesús Rios highsided out of contention.

By half distance the Moto3 midfield was typically close with nine riders all within one second, and within that battle were Fernandez and O'Gorman, who in the second half traded fortunes. Whilst Fernandez slipped to 11th, it was O'Gorman's turn to embark upon a charge - with six laps to go he had climbed to 7th, and with just three laps remaining he made the pass into 6th.

That wasn't the end of this rollercoaster of a race however as with just two laps left, O'Gorman was bumped back down to 9th, just ahead of Fernandez. Never giving up, he rose back to 7th by the chequered flag to take his highest finish of the season.

Further back, Pini and teammate Fernandez crossed the line 9th and 10th respectively, ahead of GRYD - MLav Racing's pairing of Joel Kelso and Eddie O'Shea.

The next race of the Moto3 World Championship is round 14, the Grand Prix of San Marino, on 11-13 September.
