Honda Team Asia riders successfully concluded Qualifying Day at the Chang International Circuit for the 18th round of the Moto3 World Championship.

Furusato to Start ThaiGP Race from 4th Position

The session brought mixed results for our riders. Taiyo Furusato delivered an impressive performance in Qualifying 2, securing the 4th fastest time and earning a spot on the second row of the grid for tomorrow’s race. In contrast, local idol Tatchakorn Buasri faced a setback, as his best lap was canceled due to a track limits violation; he will start the race from the 25th position.

Today was quite a productive day for both riders. Tatchakorn Buasri demonstrated significant improvement, setting a personal best lap time, and Taiyo Furusato showed strong pace both in the morning and afternoon sessions. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t entirely on our side during qualifying.
On the positive side, Furusato will start in 4th position, while Buasri will begin from 25th. Overall, it was a positive day, and I believe both riders are prepared to compete in tomorrow’s race. With the combined effort of the team and riders, we’re confident we’ll take a step forward during the race here in Thailand.

Today’s result is quite positive. Throughout the weekend, I’ve had a good feeling on the bike, as confirmed with a strong time in the morning. My race pace is also quite promising. In qualifying, I set the lap time on my own, so P4 is a solid result. I’m fully motivated to make that final push to achieve the desired result in tomorrow’s race.

It was a frustrating day; during qualifying, my best lap time was canceled, which impacted my performance. I tried to recover and get a strong lap in, but when I followed a fast rider, he slowed down, which disrupted my timing. It’s my mistake, I should have relied on my own pace, as the bike has been responding well all weekend, and I knew my pace was strong. I apologize to the team and supporters, and I can promise that I’ll give everything I have in tomorrow’s race to deliver a good result.
