Tomorrow’s 18-lap Moto3 race will see David Almansa lead the field away, after the Spanish rider set the fastest lap around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in today’s qualifying session. This pole position is Almansa’s first ever Moto3 podium and the Leopard Racing team’s first since the 2024 Malaysian round, which was taken by team-mate Adrian Fernandez.

Fernandez was the next highest placed Honda rider in Qualifying today who, after looking strong in the early part of Q2, ended the session in sixth – securing a place on the second row of the grid. Also in action in Q2, Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia) will start tomorrow’s race from the fourth row, after setting the 12^th fastest time, while Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse) and Riccardo Rossi (Rivacold Snipers Team) were 14^th and 16^th respectively.

The earlier Q1 session started well for Marco Morelli, who has joined the GRYD – MLav Racing squad, Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) and Nicola Carrao, who will have to serve a long lap penalty in tomorrow’s race, with all three sitting inside the top-four places early on. Ultimately, it was Eddie O’Shea (GRYD – MLav Racing) who was the quickest NSF250RW rider in the session, finishing in sixth place and claiming the 20^th grid spot.

Lining up just behind will be Carraro in 21^st, Morelli in 22^nd and Nepa in 23^rd. Honda Team Asia’s Arbi Aditama, ended Q1 in 11^th place and will start tomorrow’s race from 25^th.

The 18-lap Moto3 race at the Catalan GP will get underway tomorrow at the usual time of 11am local time.
