Lunetta takes stunning Silverstone podium finish
Three Honda riders inside the top-ten at the BritishGP

SIC58 Squadra Corse’s Luca Lunetta claims his first podium finish since Thailand last year, crossing the Silverstone finish line in third place – despite having to serve a long lap penalty. David Almansa and Nicola Carraro also make it three Honda riders inside the top-ten at the chequered flag.
Lunetta showed his pace early on the Moto3 race, moving up into the podium positions within the opening laps. The Italian was handed a long lap penalty for causing a crash on lap 5, which dropped him back to 14th when he served it on lap 7. It didn’t take long for Lunetta to make his way back through the bunched field and cross the finish line in third place, earning his first podium finish since Thailand 2024.
David Almansa (Leopard Racing) also had a long lap penalty to serve during today’s race and recovered from it to fight for the race lead for the majority of the 15 laps. Unfortunately, he was caught up in the pack in the final lap and finished sixth, while Nicola Carraro (Rivacold Snipers Team) made it three Honda NSF250RW riders in the top-ten by finishing in tenth place.
There was ultimately disappointment for Honda Team Asia’s Taiyo Furusato, who had battled through from 19th on the grid and was in podium contention in the closing laps of the race. The Japanese rider crossed the line in fourth but was handed a three second penalty for causing a crash on the final lap, which dropped him to 12th. Riccardo Rossi (Rivacold Snipers Team) rounded out the points-scoring finishers, taking the chequered flag in 15th place.
Just behind Rossi, Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) and Eddie O’Shea (GRYD – MLav Racing) ended the BritishGP in 16th and 17th places respectively, while Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda Team Asia) was 19th and Max Cook, filling in at GRYD – MLav Racing, was 21st. Unfortunately, Joel Esteban (Leopard Racing) was a non-finisher.
Next up for the Moto3 riders will be the Grand Prix of Aragon (6-8 June).

It’s difficult to say something as the emotions are a lot at the moment. I want to thank my team because the bike was brilliant. I never gave up after those races at the start of the season that didn’t go how I expected them to, and it’s okay because I’m back on the podium. This weekend, I felt good from Friday and everything went well. The race was difficult, and I want to say sorry to David Muñoz, it wasn’t my intention for that to happen. I’m super happy with this podium though.
