Leopard Racing riders finish inside top seven in Czechia
Adrian Fernandez sixth and David Almansa seventh in Brno Moto3 race

The final Moto3 race before the summer break saw both Leopard Racing riders battle hard in the leading group for the duration of the 16 laps around Automotodrom Brno. At the chequered flag, the pair were ultimately unable to make it onto the podium, with Adrian Fernandez sixth and David Almansa just behind in seventh.
Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia), who had work to do starting from 18th on the grid, steadily made his way through the field to lead the chasing group of riders on track. As the race progressed the groups on track splintered and gave the Japanese rider more work to do to close the gap to those riders ahead. Able to keep pushing until the end, Furusato crossed the line in 11th place, but was given a six second penalty post-race that dropped him to 16th.
Further back it was a quieter race for Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) and the GRYD – MLav Racing duo of Eddie O’Shea and Leonardo Abruzzo, who finished outside of the points in 17th, 18th and 20th places respectively.
Nicola Carraro was looking likely to finish inside the top-ten, but the Rivacold Snipers Team rider unfortunately crashed out on the final lap. There were also crashes for team-mate Riccardo Rossi on lap 5 and Lenoxx Phommara (SIC58 Squadra Corse) on lap 6.
The Moto3 riders will now be able to enjoy the season’s summer break, before action resumes with the Grand Prix of Austria at Red Bull Ring – Spielberg (15-17 August).
