Honda riders in podium contention throughout Aragon Moto3 race
David Almansa and Luna Lunetta cross the Aragon finish line in fourth and fifth respectively

Today’s Moto3 race delivered non-stop action, with Honda’s NSF250RW riders firmly in the podium fight throughout the 17 laps around MotorLand Aragon. Both David Almansa (Leopard Racing) and Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse) took turns leading the field, but at the chequered flag the pair were fourth and fifth respectively.
Honda Team Asia’s Taiyo Furusato was also in the hunt for a podium finish, after recovering from a poor start that saw him wheelie off the line and lose ground. Unfortunately, the Japanese rider struggled with rear grip in the closing stages and ultimately crossed the line just outside of the top-ten in 11th.
It was a quieter race for the Rivacold Snipers pairing of Nicola Carraro and Riccardo Rossi, who were hoping to progress into the points. Although Rossi was able to make some progress from 22nd on the grid, at the end of the race Carraro was 17th and Rossi 18th. Further back Honda Team Asia’s Tatchakorn Buasri was 20th and Eddie O’Shea (GRYD – MLav Racing) was 21st.
It was a tough day for Marcos Uriate (GRYD – MLav Racing), who pulled into the pits at the end of Lap 2 with an issue before rejoining to finish 23rd, and Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) who was caught up in another rider’s opening lap incident at Turn 9.
Next on the calendar for the Moto3 riders will be the Grand Prix of Italy, where they will tackle the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello on 20 – 22 June.
