Fourth for Rossi in Qatar Qualifying
Riccardo Rossi records his best qualifying result of the season

Moto3 qualifying saw a bumper crop of Honda riders through to Q2, with only Eddie O’Shea failing to make the cut in Qatar, where Riccardo Rossi had his best qualifying of the season and will start tomorrow’s race from the second row of the grid.
Four Honda NSF250RW riders had to go through Q1 today, where the Leopard Racing pair of David Almansa and Adrian Fernandez proved to be unbeatable in the session. Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse), who is recovering from a crash in yesterday’s practice, also joined them in making it through to Q2. Unfortunately, a Turn 5 highside in the final moments prevented GRYD – MLav Racing’s Eddie O’Shea from making it a clean sweep. He will start tomorrow’s race from 23rd on the grid.
The top Honda rider of the day though was Riccardo Rossi (Rivacold Snipers Team), who had his best Qualifying result of the season, finishing Q2 in fourth place and securing his place at the front of the second row. While the third row of the grid will feature Adrian Fernandez, who will have to serve a long lap penalty, in seventh place and team-mate David Almansa in eighth.
Yellow flags in the first sector of Lusail International Circuit in the closing moments of the session made it hard for riders to improve on their final lap. Nicola Carraro (Rivacold Snipers Team) ended Qatar qualifying 10th, with Honda Team Asia’s Taiyo Furusato 12th, Stefano Nepa 15th and Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse) 17th, while Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda Team Asia) was one place behind in 18th.
Tomorrow’s 16-lap Moto3 race in Qatar will take place at 1700 local time.
