Fifth for Fernandez in FrenchGP Qualifying
Adrian Fernandez will start the Moto3 race at Le Mans from the second row of the grid

The Moto3 riders enjoyed a sunny Qualifying at Le Mans, France today, where Leopard Racing’s Adrian Fernandez ended the session in fifth place aboard his Honda NSF250RW.
Fernandez, along with team-mate David Almansa and Honda Team Asia’s Taiyo Furusato all headed straight to Q2, after demonstrating good pace in Friday’s Practice session. Fernandez continued this form today, setting a lap on his first qualifying run that placed him in the top three. Although he couldn’t maintain his place on the front row of the grid, he will start tomorrow’s Moto3 race from fifth on the grid.
Almansa ended the session in ninth place, which will see him on the third row of the grid, while Rivacold Snipers Team’s Nicola Carraro, who made his way through from Q1, and Furusato will be one row behind in tenth and 11th places respectively.
Luca Lunetta (SIC58 Squadra Corse) also progressed from Q1 as the second fastest rider, but a crash part way through Q2 hampered his efforts. Lunetta had been in ninth place and, although he was able to rejoin the session in the closing moments, was unable to do better than 16th.
Unable to make it out of Q1, Adrian Cruces (GRYD – MLav Racing) will line up on the grid in 20th place with Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) 21st, Riccardo Rossi (Rivacold Snipers Team) 22nd and Tatchakorn Buasri (Honda Team Asia) in 23rd. Unfortunately, Eddie O’Shea crashed in the opening moments of Q1 and was unable to set a lap time.
Tomorrow’s 20-lap Moto3 race around the Le Mans circuit will take place at 11am local time.
