David Almansa secures second row start in Argentina
Mixed results for Honda riders at Termas de Rio Hondo in second qualifying session of 2025

Moto3 action returned to Argentina this weekend, after the event at Termas de Rio Hondo was unable to take place in 2024, which saw Honda riders battle mixed conditions across the two qualifying sessions.
David Almansa (Leopard Racing) continued his good form from yesterday, which included setting the first 1min46 lap of Friday, in today’s qualifying and claimed his place at the head of row two, finishing the session in fourth place. Rivacold Snipers Team’s Riccardo Rossi will start tomorrow's Moto3 race from seventh on the grid, despite a Turn 7 crash ending his Q2 with just over two minutes left on the clock.
Although Adrian Fernandez’s first flying lap was good enough for a front row start, the Leopard Racing rider was unable to stay there and ended the session in 12th place, while Taiyo Furusato (Honda Team Asia), who had to come through a slightly damp Q1 session, was 14th.
Just behind Furusato, Stefano Nepa (SIC58 Squadra Corse) will line up 15th, with Rivacold Snipers Team’s Nicola Carraro 17th and Marcos Uriarte (GRYD – Mlav Racing) 18th.
Tomorrow’s 18-lap Moto3 race around the 2.99mile Termas de Rio Hondo circuit will take place at 1200 local time.
