Honda Team Asia will be represented by Taiyo Furusato and Mario Suryo Aji. After winning all the races at the 2021 Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup, Furusato will step up to Moto3 this season. Furusato and Aji, who will be competing in their first full World Championship, will compete in 21 rounds against riders from around the world.

Honda Team Asia rider have finished the preseason in Portimao with three intense days of tests.

Taiyo Furusato did not participate in these training sessions due to a crash suffered last Thursday in a private training session at the Circuito de Jerez. As a result of the incident, he suffered a fracture in the talus of his right foot, which was operated on last Saturday. The diagnosis is satisfactory, and he has started already the recovery process, although no date has been set for his return to competition.

I felt much better here in Portimao riding the bike than the test before in Jerez. We tested many different things on the bike, and, in the end, it was worth it, although the lap time hasn't what we were expecting. But we're working with my feelings and set up, not on the fastest lap now. I'm excited for Qatar Grand Prix.
