Dramatic end of the Hungarian GP: Kunii crashes on the first corner, while Nakarin finishes 21st
IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia completed the 14th round of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship at Balaton Park, Hungary. Under sunny but windy conditions, the race turned into another tough challenge for both riders, with Yuki Kunii starting from P25 on the grid and Nakarin Atiratphuvapat from the last spot on the grid in P28.

All hopes of a strong race for Kunii vanished in just 10 seconds, as he was involved in a crash with another rider at the first corner of the opening lap. It was a real pity, especially after he had shown clear progression during qualifying.
Meanwhile, teammate Nakarin had to avoid several incidents at the start, as many riders crashed in front of him. Despite the tricky conditions and the demanding nature of the Balaton Park track, he managed to keep his pace and fight through the race. He eventually crossed the finish line in P21, gaining seven positions from his starting spot. Although the pace was not what he had hoped for, Nakarin finished with a positive feeling.

It wasn't an easy weekend for us. We were expecting to catch up riders ahead in the race, with conditions being a bit colder and more windy compared to previous days. Unfortunately, right after the start, Yuki Kunii was involved in a crash caused by another rider. He couldn't avoid it and his race ended there. Luckily, he is okay, which is the most important thing.
Nakarin started from P28 and managed to gain some positions in the early laps, but his pace wasn't good enough to stay there. He struggled to be consistent over the race distance and in the end he dropped his pace significantly. Of course, Moto2 races are longer than what he was used to before, but we know he gave his best effort.
I want to thank the team once again for their hard work, and also Nakarin for giving everything in these two races with us. For Yuki, it was simply an unfortunate crash that sometimes happens in racing. Now we turn the page and look ahead to next weekend in Catalunya, where we will try again.

We just completed the race, and it was a tough one. The extremely windy conditions made it quite challenging to ride, especially on a track as technical as this one, with so many high-speed corners. I tried my best, but it was difficult to consistently follow the pace of the other riders. At the beginning of the race there was a big crash in front of me, and avoiding it cost me some valuable time. From that point, it became very difficult to close the gap to the riders ahead.
Despite these challenges, I am very thankful for this opportunity. The team took great care of me and gave me all the support I needed to learn and adapt. These races have taught me a lot, and I really enjoyed riding the Moto2 bike. It has been an incredible experience, and I'm deeply grateful to everyone who made it possible. Thank you very much.

Sunday Race is done, and honestly there is not much to say. Unfortunately, another rider crashed in front of me and his bike hit me, so I couldn't avoid the incident. I'm very disappointed about this, but sometimes these kinds of accidents just happen in racing. Now, we just need to focus on the next races to bring a good result.
