Hada to Start 26th and Kunii 27th for the CzechGP Race in Brno
IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia riders Yuki Kunii and Taiga Hada just completed the qualifying day of Round 12 of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship at the legendary Automotodrom Brno in the Czech Republic. Like last week in Sachsenring, the weather here in Brno has been unstable throughout the weekend — but finally, the sun came out and the paddock enjoyed a warm and dry day.

Free Practice didn’t end in the best way for the team, but both riders improved their pace during Qualifying 1. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to advance to Q2. Still, there were positives: both Hada and Kunii made progress with the setup and found better rhythm throughout the session. Their performance gives hope for a stronger race, with the target set on fighting for points in tomorrow’s GP.

Day two in Brno is complete, with both sessions held in dry conditions. The track improved throughout the day, and so did the lap times. Both of our riders made progress. Yuki Kunii was still struggling a bit with the bike’s feeling, but we managed to take a step forward in qualifying.
Taiga, unfortunately, suffered a technical issue during the last Free Practice which limited his track time this morning. Luckily, we were able to solve the problem before qualifying, and he was able to complete the session without further issues.
Of course, more dry track time would have helped both riders build confidence, and position-wise we are not where we wanted to be. Yuki also mentioned a small mistake in his final time attack that cost him a better grid spot.
Still, we saw clear steps forward on both sides of the garage. Now we will focus on further improvements for the race. The goal is to fight for points tomorrow — and we believe both riders are capable of that.

After today’s qualifying, the feeling is better, but I’m still not fully satisfied with how things went. We made a clear step forward — especially from the last Free Practice to Qualifying 1. The bike setup improved, my feeling improved too, but I still struggled in some areas and couldn’t get the result I was hoping for.
That said, the gap to the riders in front isn’t too big. I hope to have a good start, stay consistent, and manage the tyres well so I don’t face the same drop-off I had in the final laps at Sachsenring. I’ll try to be smart, focus on my own pace, and close the gap to the group fighting for points. Let’s see how the race goes tomorrow here in Brno.

Today’s qualifying was quite difficult. I’m a bit disappointed with the result, but at the same time, we’ve made some progress throughout the weekend. On Friday, we started quite well, and although we missed the cut for Q2 today, I felt more confident on the bike.
That didn’t help us get further in the session, but the positive thing is that I was able to complete several consistent laps. That helped me understand the bike better, and now we have more data to analyze and improve ahead of the race.
P27 isn’t where I want to be, but technically it was a more productive day than yesterday. Let’s see what we can do in the race tomorrow — I’ll try to fight back and finish strong.
