Difficult End to the Weekend for IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Riders in Qatar
IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia riders Mario Suryo Aji and Yuki Kunii wrapped up Round 4 of the 2025 Moto2 World Championship at the Lusail International Circuit in Qatar with a challenging race outcome.

After a promising start during Friday and Saturday’s free practice sessions, the race day did not deliver the results the team had hoped for.
Mario Aji, who started from 17th on the grid, was cleared to race following a medical check after his heavy crash in Q2. Despite lingering pain in his foot and back, he showed determination to complete the race and crossed the line in 23rd place. Meanwhile, Moto2 rookie Yuki Kunii continued to battle with setup and tire management issues and concluded his race in 24th position.

It was a very difficult day for us in Moto2. After Mario’s huge crash yesterday, he suffered an injury to his right foot. It was not an ideal situation, but he passed the medical check this morning and was declared fit to ride. Unfortunately, his condition wasn’t good enough to allow him to perform at his usual level, and he finished in P23.
As for Yuki, he’s still learning and struggling to fully understand and manage the tire performance. That continues to be a challenge for him, and he ended the race in P24.
Overall, it wasn’t the weekend we were hoping for in Moto2, but I appreciate the effort from both riders. They gave their best under tough circumstances. A big thank you as well to our sponsors and supporters. We’ll work hard to come back stronger in Jerez.

That definitely wasn’t the ideal race. I felt discomfort in my foot and back, and things really changed after the crash on Saturday. Despite that, I’m proud I managed to finish the race—it wasn’t easy.
Of course, I’m not satisfied with the result, but I have to accept it given the situation. What’s important now is to keep the motivation high and focus on coming back stronger in Jerez, especially in better physical shape, which I know will help me perform better.
The bike setup this weekend was really good, and the team did an amazing job throughout. Even though today didn’t go our way, we’ll take the positives and keep moving forward. Thanks again to the team—I couldn’t have done it without them. I believe we’ll bounce back stronger at the next round.

We’ve finished the race here in Qatar. The result wasn’t anything special, but what matters most is that I’m starting to better understand where my issues are with riding.
I struggled a lot with pace during the race—I couldn’t keep up with the group, which was frustrating. But I’ve started to pinpoint the main problem, especially with how I approach corner entry and turning. That’s something I need to fix quickly ahead of the next round.
Honestly, I know I need to improve myself. I have to keep believing in my potential, stay positive, and focus on adapting my riding style. We have one week before the next race—I’ll use that time to reset and come back stronger. I’ll keep pushing, and I believe my moment will come.
