Chantra is to Start Sixth after a Very Close Qualifying Session

A tenth of a second separated the Thai IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider from the pole. Ogura suffered a crash in the morning session and did not make it through to Q2, so that he will start from a backward 19th position tomorrow.

It was a tiny lap time difference in this qualifying session. Ogura crashed in FP3 and lost the place to be directly in Q2. He has been part of the Q1 but couldn’t enter Q2 after being fifth, so that he will start tomorrow from P19. It isn’t what we wanted, but the crash caused a difficult situation for him. Chantra has managed to be on Q2, riding well to finish P6, just 0,1s to the pole. We saw some points where he can improve, mainly the sector 2. But he’s ready to fight on the 22 laps of the race.

On FP3, we tuned the bike better than yesterday to prepare for Q2. I tried to do a perfect lap there, but I made some mistakes in sector two that prevented me from a better grid position. In any case, I am ready for the race.

This morning, the pace of the first outing wasn’t bad, but when we changed the tires on the second, I crashed in my first flying lap. Luckily, on the qualifying, I had no technical problems because my mechanics repaired the bike perfectly. In qualifying, I lost a lot in sector four but couldn’t work more at some points. The target for tomorrow is to improve in sectors four, two and three, and I can go a bit faster. I will try to gain as many positions as possible from the beginning.
