2022 Moto2 starts on 4th March
The 2022 Moto2 season will kick off with the Qatar Grand Prix from 4-6 March. Ai Ogura and Somkiat Chantra continue to compete for IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia.
Ogura made the step up to Moto2 last season, and in his first year in the class he was 8th overall with a podium finish.Together with Chantra, who is in his fourth year of racing, he will be aiming for his first win and a top overall finish.
Ai Ogura has put forward his candidature to be one of the season's main protagonists in his second year in the intermediate class.
For his part, Somkiat Chantra has demonstrated during the preseason a consistency that should allow him to be regularly in the top 10 of the category.

I feel very well with the new bike, after eight days of test. The pace is excellent; the lap time is quite good compared to the other riders. I'm happy about the work we've done. Now, I'm just thinking about Qatar. It won't be easy this time because we don't have the test there, but it's the same for everybody. I can't wait to start the 2022 season!

During these three days of the test, I've had the option to test the new bike. The feeling is good because it allows me to have a constant and faster pace. We're ready for Qatar, where I'm sure we will be fighting in the front group.
