After gaining experience in Europe through GP3 and Formula 2, he competed in the Japanese Super Formula Championship in 2019. In his rookie season, he demonstrated his exceptional ability by securing a season-high three pole positions, achieving one pole-to-win victory, and ultimately finishing third overall to win the Rookie of the Year title.

Palou began his challenge in the INDYCAR SERIES in 2020, and the following year, 2021, he accomplished the remarkable feat of winning his first Series Championship in only his second season. His momentum continued, capturing the championship titles again in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, he achieved his long-coveted first INDY500 victory and, combined with his fourth Series Championship title (his third consecutive), he cemented his name in history.
