Bad luck for Asia Talent Team riders in Barcelona

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya hosted the third round of the FIM JuniorGP season this weekend. Tatchakorn Buasri finished 13th and 14th, whilst Arbi Aditama was 28th in Race 1 and crashed out in Race 2.

Buasri, who started fourth on the grid after a good qualification, suffered a crash in the morning warmup, which caused a fissure to his right hand. In the first race he felt discomfort as a result, and was unable to keep up with the front group. In the second race, fighting at the front, he went into the gravel when cut up by another rider. Despite a strong pace late on, he was only able to cross the line 14th.

Arbi Aditama battled for his first Top 10 of the season, but whilst he felt very good onboard his bike, the Indonesian rider was forced onto the grass when another rider got onto the brakes early, dropping him down the order. In Race 2, Arbi Aditama crashed with 8 laps to go, whilst fighting in the second group.

Tatchakorn Buasri is 7th in the overall standings, with 41 points. Arbi Aditama is 25th with 1 point.

The next round of the FIM JuniorGP season will be on July 3rd at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, where the Asia Talent Team riders will once again contest two races.

This weeked I felt very good on the bike and on the track. We had a very good qualifying session. Unfortunately, Sunday was not so lucky. In the warmup, at Turn 1, another rider got in my way and I couldn't stop, hitting the tyre wall and fracturing my hand. In Race 1, I couldn't keep up with the front group due to struggling with my front brake, and I did my best to finish in the points. In Race 2, another rider hit me, so I went wide and lost a lot of positions. Despite gaining places, I had to settle for 14th.

I felt comfortable this weekend. We improved from Valencia and Estoril, so that is the most important thing. In Race 1, I made a good start and I was trying to find opportunities to overtake. After 10 laps, a rider in front of me hit the brakes early, so I had to go onto the grass. In the second race, I tried to get a better feeling, because the times were slower. I was in the second group, but unfortunately I hit another rider and crashed. This is racing, but I'm happy with the work that we did and will go for more at the next round.
